About
Carolina Ramos Fontoura
Carolina Ramos is a Uruguayan-American composer and multi-instrumentalist (saxophone) who brings storytelling to life through music for film and video games. Carolina is the first hispanic woman to graduate with a film and interactive media scoring degree at Berklee College of Music, where she received the prestigious Women in Game Audio Scholarship -- an award that recognized her talent in game audio and her support toward women in the music industry.
Her music lies mostly in the world of games, spanning from open-world orchestral landscapes to quirky, character-driven themes for puzzle and indie titles. Her unique sound is found with her playing a variety of live wind instruments in her scores, making them one of a kind. With experience in Wwise/FMOD and Unity/Unreal, Carolina designs adaptive, interactive soundscapes that make music respond to gameplay and narrative in real time. Some of her inspirations are John
Williams, Dany Elfman, Scriabin, Koji Kondo and Astor Piazzolla.

In March 2026, Carolina was nominated as one of the most influential women during women's
history month by Influential Women Magazine. In the same year, she later won the
Berklee Cross Roads Collaboration Competition, where she had her music performed by
the top players as New England Conservatory which was later recorded at Power Station
in New York City. Her current work is as the sole composer for indie game company
Timeless Toucan, where she collaborates with developers, sound designers and artists in
creating an exciting new game to come!

In addition to composition, Carolina currently is educating aspiring composers through her YouTube channel, sharing insights on film and game music, sound design, and implementation, helping others explore the craft behind interactive music. She is also an advocate for Crohn’s disease awareness as a woman with Crohn's herself. She uses her platform to promote creativity, empathy, and inclusivity within the game audio community.
Carolina’s mission is simple: to keep scoring, keep exploring, and keep inspiring — creating worlds where music doesn’t just accompany the story, but becomes part of it. She is open to collaborating with indie film and game companies and searching for internships. She is currently based in Boston, MA.
